About Mediation

Mediation is a confidential and voluntary means of dispute resolution in which the parties to a dispute engage the assistance of an impartial third party (the Mediator) to facilitate negotiations between them with a view to privately resolving their dispute. The parties themselves, not the Mediator, determine the solution to their dispute.  Mediation is a non-judgmental process without focus on who is right and wrong or who has a stronger or weaker case.  It focuses solely on how the parties can resolve the dispute.

These days the government, the large corporations and institutions, the courts, and the parties are extremely focused on mediation in preference to traditional adversarial procedures such as contested hearings and arbitration. Meditation has the benefit of usually being far more economical than either litigation or arbitration.  It is fast, confidential and is almost infinitely flexible.

A skilled and experienced Mediator will greatly improve the prospects of getting a dispute resolved.
